Urinary System Herbs

This page includes herbs that exhibit actions on the urinary system such as: diuretic, antibacterial or antimicrobial for UTIs, antiseptics, toning, having a higher berberine content, and more. The herbs listed here do not fall under all of these categories; with each herb I have included what its main action would be on the urinary system, but many of these herbs have more effects on this system and on many other systems in the body, especially the renal system. If you have a serious concern about your bladder, or if you have frequent or recurring UTIs, please seek medical attention. Please see the Materia Medica page, or Teas & Guides, for more information on specific herbal actions. Be sure to monitor water and electrolyte intake if you use any urinary herbs so you don’t become dehydrated. Hydrate or die-drate!
