Reproductive System Herbs
This page includes herbs that exhibit actions such as: aphrodisiac, pelvic stimulant, emmenagogue, phytoestrogen, abortifacient, parturient, uterine tonic, etc. The herbs listed here do not fall under all of these categories; with each herb I have included what its main effect would be on the reproductive system, but many of these herbs have more effects on this system, and on many other systems in the body (especially the endocrine system). Many of these herbs will stimulate blood flow to the reproductive systems of both men and women, but it’s important to practice caution with any herb used for the reproductive system, as they could have unpleasant contraindications such as the loss of a pregnancy, especially heavy or light menstruation, or a shift in hormonal balance. Please see the Materia Medica page, or Teas & Guides, for more information on specific herbal actions.
